I mentioned to you that I was co-chairing the global Open Education Conference (#OER20 conference) that was set to take place this coming week in London on April 1 & 2. As a result of the recent developments with the COVID-19 outbreak, the face to face OER20 Conference has of course been canceled, but it has as a result moved online. It seems a prophetic vision, but we decided on the #OER20 conference theme – “Care in Openness” – last Spring. Covering issues of privilege, equity, precarity, power relations and public interest, OER20 will put the spotlight on both the value and limitations of care in open education. The #OER20 conference is now open and FREE to everyone. I want to invite you to attend if you are interested, as there is much to learn there. I would love for you to participate, but of course, it is not a requirement. To register, click here.
Because of this conference this week, I have several critical #OER20 meetings I must attend, so I will miss our regular check-in. Please proceed with your set goals as we have worked out, and post your progress on your blog as always. I will look forward to seeing you on screen a week later on April 6. If you have any concerns, please write to me by email directly and I will respond.
And please, take care of yourself as we face another hard week of this pandemic.
